Bobbie Barker's Art

I am an artist.  I work in many mediums and some of my art arises from my vision which I call “Rocks in Motion.”  I have two pieces created from this vision and they can be seen on my page entitled “Abstract Adventure.”

I have had this vision in my mind’s eye for many years and have only in the past  year or so translated the collecting of rocks into the displaying of rocks in the form of 3 dimensional  art, using rocks as my  color palette and often also using my photos as inspiration. 

In my rock pieces I hope to create art that is in motion as if water were constantly passing over the subject.  Rocks, whether in an alpine stream bed or dotting the desert floor, appear to me as if the motion that created them is captured deep inside.  The timeless ripples of the oceans’ currents and unrelenting wind and rain are forever  unveiling the layers of the rocks, creating ever new and ever changing motion.  It is this motion I see and am trying to capture.
